Zamorano Elementary School has a very active and engaged Chavez Club thanks to school Principal Derek Murchinson and Club Manager Ariana Gallegos. Hungry to learn, Zamorano Chavistas recently got the opportunity to do some hands on science learning at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park.
The 13 Chavistas on the trip spent several hours at the Science Center experiencing the many hands-on science exhibits. The Fleet Science Center provides interactive science programs for students, teachers, families and adults in Balboa Park, and at schools around the county. The Fleet Science Center is devoted to building and supporting communities rich in science learning, throughout the entire San Diego region.
You can certainly see from the smiles on our Chavistas faces that they had fun and learned a lot. They certainly met the goal of the Fleet Science Center which is to "spark passion, foster interest and inspire the greater San Diego community through the lens of science and technology, so that everyone deepens their appreciation and passion for science."
